EMDR Therapy for Trauma and PTSD
When you live through trauma, the brain can struggle to file the memory away, leaving you stuck in high alert or old pain. EMDR helps the brain finish that work.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a well-researched, structured approach for trauma and PTSD. Through guided attention while you briefly recall a memory, the memory's emotional charge lowers over time, so it can be remembered without reliving it. It does not require talking through every detail out loud.
Tina Bilyeu, LMHC is trained in EMDR and uses it alongside a person-centered foundation, following your pace. Sessions are online by secure video, which many people find makes the work feel safer because they are in their own space. EMDR can help with single-event trauma, long-standing or complex trauma, and anxiety rooted in past experiences.
Curious whether EMDR fits what you are carrying? You can read about her background and approach or simply book a first session and talk it through.
